JP Nuclear Materials at glance
The objective of the EERA JP on Nuclear Materials is to improve safety and sustainability of Nuclear Energy by focusing on materials aspects:
The ultimate goal is to enable the selection of the most suited materials and to define safe design rules for advanced nuclear systems, considering especially radiation and temperature effects, as well as compatibility issues, while ensuring improved component lifetime management.
Better knowledge of materials' and components' behaviour under operating and off-normal conditions, seeking predictive and monitoring capability.
Development of innovative materials with superior capabilities, resistant to high temperature, high neutron flux and aggressive environments.
