Work Package 4 aims:

• to obtain experimental data on liquid metal corrosion and high temperature corrosion in He gas to establish correlations for design of MYRRHA, ALFRED reactor systems and ALLEGRO reactor concept
• to study corrosion resistance of welded joints and compare it with base material in various coolants
• to explore compatibility of new alumina forming austenitic steels and innovative surface treatments with heavy liquid metal and high temperature helium
• to obtain data on effect of liquid lead and LBE on mechanical properties of welded joints materials and alumina forming steels
• to obtain microstructural and modelling data for understanding of liquid metal corrosion phenomena and development of mitigation techniques.
